With a sound that ranges between modern, alternative, and progressive metal, "Agony" presents an aggressive, technical, and claustrophobic approach. According to guitarist and vocalist Diego Oliveira, choosing this track as the first release of this phase encapsulates the band's current energy and studio work.
"Releasing 'Agony' first was a very accurate decision for us. It perfectly encapsulates the band's current energy: it's aggressive, suffocating, and has a technical level that demanded a lot from everyone in the studio. The lyrics deal precisely with that feeling of claustrophobia and pain."
The single's visual identity follows the same atmosphere. The cover features a monochromatic photograph by visual artist Juh Missagia, created to represent the human aspect of the isolation described in the lyrics. Before the EP arrives, the group also plans to release another single accompanied by a music video.
Formed in 2006 in Belo Horizonte, Sacrificed currently consists of Kell Reis on vocals, Diego Oliveira on guitar and vocals, Johnny Ambrozio on bass, and Tiago Vitek on drums. The discography includes the albums "The Path of Reflections" and "Enraged", as well as the EP "Beyond the Gates".
